I think I spent the my whole junior year designing this dress! And it took months of debating on that front cut out and the sheer section in the front. My mom just wasn't having it. I had to beg and plead and plead and beg to keep the design that I envisioned. Ultimately, the overall design was not far from what I wanted for my senior prom dress. I wasn't much of a seamstress back then but I had an endless bucket of ideas. Most of my class notebooks were filled with random sketches and it got me in trouble in class a few times. I went to three proms that year....in the same dress! I was that proud. It was donated in 2004 to a prom dress drive in Fayetteville, NC.
